Ah, the “system”, this is everyone’s favorite topic. There are several factors that need to be considered when choosing a day trading solution. If you are a new trader, you will want to start with the basics of trading, and then slowly move up to some of the more advanced topics. Experienced and professional traders will want a system that immediately enables them to improve their performance.

Ideally, a trading system for beginning traders would include everything necessary to go from being a complete beginner to trading live (or at least trading in simulation). If a trading package does not include everything necessary for this, it is likely that additional tool and/or education will be required (at additional cost). If you are considering a system that does not include all of the necessary software and education, make sure that you include the cost of any additional costs or fees (ie. trade room subscriptions) when you are comparing different trading system choices.

My advice is this… Keep it simple! If you are looking at a NinjaTrader trading system like the Diversified Trading System, that’s great! But if you are using your own all I can say is that I have personally found the more complicated a day trading system is the more likely I am to make mistakes.

It is my opinion that simple trading systems deliver better probabilities than more complicated signal generators that have too many variables that we have to make decisions on.
